Adding Media to the Media Gallery

You can add media to the entire Media Gallery that is associated with a one-line, or you can add media to individual equipment items in the one-line.

The following media file types are supported: BMP, JPG, GIF, PNG, ICO, TIFF, WMF, EMF.

Adding Media to the Media Gallery

  1. Open the Media Gallery (Window > View Media Gallery) if it is not already open.
  2. Click Add.

  4. Browse to the location on your computer where the media file is located, and then select it. Press CTRL while clicking to select multiple media files.
  5. When you are finished selecting the media you want to add, click Open.

After the media file has been added to the Media Gallery, it can be linked to equipment items.

Adding Media to Equipment Items

You can add media that is not currently in the Media Gallery directly from equipment items. This is different from linking media, which refers to creating links to media that is already in the gallery.

To add media to equipment items:

  1. Open the equipment data dialog box on the one-line by double-clicking on the item.
  2. Click Collected Data in the upper right to display the Media Gallery if it is not in view.

  4. Click Add.

  6. Browse to the location on your computer where the media is located, and select it. To select multiple media items, press CTRL while clicking the items.
  7. Click Open.

  9. Click OK in the data dialog box to save your changes. The media is added to the equipment item and also is added to the Media Gallery.
  10. Note: If you close the dialog box or cancel without clicking OK first, the media file is not added to the item.

Linking Existing Media to Equipment Items

You can link media that is already in the Media Gallery directly to equipment items. This is different from adding media, which refers to creating links to media files that are not in the gallery yet.

To link media to equipment items:

  1. Open the equipment data dialog box on the one-line by double-clicking on the item.
  2. Click Collected Data in the upper right to display the Media Gallery if it is not in view.

  4. Click Link.

  6. Browse to the location on your computer where the media file is located, and select it. To select multiple media files, press CTRL while clicking the items.
  7. Click OK.

  9. Click OK in the data dialog box to save your changes. The media file is linked to the equipment item.
  10. Note: If you close the dialog box or cancel without clicking OK first, the media file is not added to the item.
