Symbol Orientation

The are several valid symbol orientations. These include:

  • AboveBus
  • BelowBus
  • Vertical
  • VerticalFlipped
  • Horizontal 
  • HorizontalFlipped

Some symbols appear the same whether they are above or below a bus.

The text, "AboveBus," is shown on the upper side of a bus, and the text "BelowBus" is shown on the lower side of the bus.

Some symbols can be shown in their original orientation (Vertical) and can also potentially be rotated 180° from their original orientation (VerticalFlipped). The symbol appears in the same orientation whether it is above or below the bus.

In the image on the left, a breaker is shown with a broken line pointing upward and to the right. On the right-side image, the line points downward and to the left.

Similarly, some symbols have a horizontal orientation that occurs when the symbol is rotated 90° or 270°.
