Online Transfer
Perform an online transfer as described below. The process starts at the recipient computer, the key is transferred from the host computer, and then the process is finished at the recipient computer.
A. On the Recipient Computer
- Start the Key Management Utility on the recipient computer. (See Starting the Key Management Utility.)
- Click Show SL Key transfer options.
- Select Transfer key to this computer to see the list of SL keys on the network that are available to transfer to this computer.
- Select the key that matches the serial number of the license you want to transfer.
Note: If you don’t see the key in the list, follow the steps described in Sentinel Admin Control Center Configuration.
- Click Request Transfer to request a transfer from the host machine. The Key Management Utility informs you that there is a transfer in progress.

Note: At this point, you can click Cancel Transfer to cancel the process.
B. On the Host Computer
The transfer needs to be accepted on the host computer to complete the transfer.
- Start the Key Management Utility on the host computer. (See Starting the Key Management Utility.)
- Click Show SL Key transfer options.
- Click Transfer key from this computer.
- Select the key for which the transfer request was created, and then click Accept Transfer.
Note: After the transfer has been accepted, the SL key will no longer be usable on this computer. The transfer must be completed on the recipient computer for the key to be usable again.

C. On the Recipient Computer
To complete the transfer:
- Start the Key Management Utility on the recipient computer. (See Starting the Key Management Utility.)
- Click Show SL Key transfer options.
- Click Complete Transfer to complete the transfer process. After the transfer process has completed successfully, the SL key will now be available on the recipient computer.
Note: It can take up to a minute before the key transfers successfully. If you attempt to complete and get repeated errors, close and reopen the Key Management utility, and try again.
