A functional group is a collection of electrical equipment that can be grouped together under very specific conditions. Functional groups are created, edited, and deleted from the Database focus. You can plot TCC curves for functional groups in the Coordination focus.
Currently, the only functional group that is available is the Relay Controlled Fuse Group
To create a functional group, all of the equipment required by the group must be selected on the one-line. For a relay controlled fuse group, this includes the controlled fuse, switch, and relay.
For more information about the requirements of the relay controlled fuse group, see Relay Controlled Fuse Groups.
To edit a functional group, in the Database or Coordination focus, right-click on a required item in the group, and then select Functional Group > Edit.
These settings are used when you plot the functional group in a TCC in the Coordination focus.
To delete a functional group, in the Database focus, right-click on a required item in the group, and then select Functional Group > Delete. You are asked to confirm the deletion.
Deleting a functional group does not remove the items from the one-line, it merely removes the functional group from the items.
If you delete an equipment item that is part of a functional group (such as the controlled fuse, relay, or switch), the functional group is also deleted. If you delete supporting equipment that is required to make the functional group valid (such as the main fuse or the downstream bus), you will receive warning messages regarding this when you enter the Coordination focus.
