Transferring an SL key
You can move an SL (software license) key from one computer to another using the advanced SL key transfer options in the EasyPower Key Management utility. To view these options, start Key Management and click Show SL Key transfer options. You have the option of transferring the key using an online process. If you receive an error or are on a computer that is not connected to the Internet, you can transfer the key manually.
Note: This process describes how to permanently move a license key from one computer to another. If you only need to temporarily detach a license key, see Temporarily Detaching Software Licenses.

When transferring between two computers, the host computer is the computer that currently contains the key, and the recipient computer is the computer to which the key will be transferred. For either online or offline transferring, the steps are as follows:
- The process is started on the recipient computer, where information about that computer is collected.
- On the host computer, transfer information is collected based on the key that is to be transferred and the recipient computer’s information.
- Back on the recipient computer, the transfer information is applied, completing the transfer process.
