Symbol Template Files
The default symbol template is named Symbols.ezsym and a copy is located in your Templates folder (for example, C:\Users\{UserName}\Documents\EasyPower 10.3\Templates). Initially, this file is empty. When you create a new one-line, a copy of the Symbols.ezsym file is embedded in the one-line. Since no customization is included in the file, EasyPower uses the default symbols for the selected standard as the base symbols.
Note: In addition to the default symbol template file, EasyPower installs a file named EasyPowerSymbols.xsd. This file contains the validation rules for the .ezsym file. Although it is not required to have this file, it is helpful in ensuring that the symbol information is entered correctly into the .ezsym file if you customize the symbols. This file is typically not edited.
You can create custom symbols in a one-line and then export the symbols into a new .ezsym file. That file can then be imported into a different one-line, or can be set up as a default symbol template for new one-lines.
Note: We recommend that you do not modify the Symbol.ezsym template file. This ensures you can identify your customized symbol file and also prevents your custom changes from being overwritten if we update the template file in a future release.
If you choose to customize your symbols, you should export the .ezsym file with a unique name, make your changes to the exported file including removing any symbols you do not want to customize, and then use Tools > Options > One-line Symbols to import the new file into your one-line. See Customizing One-line Symbols for more information.
