Installing EasyPower

We have designed the EasyPower installation to be simple and fast. Within a matter of minutes, you can be up and running with your EasyPower software.

To perform the installation, you need to:

  • Review the System Requirements to ensure your system meets the requirements.
  • Determine which type of installation you are performing (see table below).
  • Have your USB key available, if applicable.
  • Have your authorization code available.
  • Ensure that your computer has all of the latest operating system security updates.
  • (Optional) If you plan to share your data from one location, determine where your EasyPower data will be stored (see Storing Your Data).

Installing EasyPower with a Hardware Lock (HL) Key

The image below shows the different types of USB keys, or dongles, available for installation. These are also referred to as hardware lock or HL keys. The red key is used for a server installation. The purple keys are used for standalone or client installations. If a key is provided to you, insert the key prior to starting the installation process.

Installing EasyPower with a Software Lock (SL) Key

Some installations of EasyPower use a software lock (SL) key. If your company purchased an SL key, you do not need to insert a USB key for these installations. Otherwise, the installation process is the same.

For additional information related to SL keys, see:

Important: If you are using a software lock (SL) license key, do not clone the server that is used to manage your EasyPower SL licenses. Doing so can cause your license to stop working. If you need to migrate to a new server, see Transferring an SL key.
