Export Considerations

OnSite allows for very flexible data collection in comparison to EasyPower. It is important to note that ALL of the data that is collected in OnSite is sent to EasyPower and appears on the Collected Data tab in EasyPower for each equipment item. However, only the fields that are available to map in the EasyPower Settings tab are actually imported into EasyPower fields. In addition, if the collected data from OnSite doesn't match the data that EasyPower is expecting, the field values are not imported, but the collected data does still appear on the Collected Data tab. See Configuring EasyPower Settings information about which fields are mapped between OnSite and EasyPower.

It is a good idea to review the Collected Data tab against what appears in the equipment dialog boxes after exporting and importing to ensure you have the information you expect.

Please be aware of the following when exporting your project information for use with EasyPower:

  • In the equipment settings, you can specify properties such as the property type (for example, text, numeric, or date) as well as the default information to use for each property. In the EasyPower settings, you can specify how you want the fields to be exported. OnSite enforces these settings within itself, but does not validate that they are appropriate for EasyPower. See Configuring Equipment Properties and Configuring EasyPower Settings for more information about the settings.
  • You can choose whether to export your MCCs and panels as MCCs and panels, or to export them as buses. You will be given the option to make this choice when you export. This affects how the MCCs and panels appear on the one-line in EasyPower, and whether the associated spreadsheet is exported. If MCCs and panels are exported as MCCs and panels, the spreadsheet in OnSite is also exported. If this option is not selected, the spreadsheet will not be exported, but the information will still be included in the collected data.
  • Bus duct spreadsheets are exported to EasyPower as busway and buses. If the nonessential buses that are automatically created as part of this process do not contain feeders, you have the option to remove them on export.
  • The one-line that results from exporting your project into EasyPower may not appear as you expect. This is because OnSite allows more flexibility than EasyPower and some items (such as additional connection buses) may be added to meet the criteria that EasyPower enforces. Items may not appear in the location you expect. You may need to modify the one-line after it is created so that it appears the way you want it.
