Copy and Paste (in One-lines)

You can copy and paste equipment items or equipment properties. How you perform the copy and paste action determines whether the equipment items or equipment properties are copied.

Copy and Paste Equipment Items

You can copy and paste equipment items from the one-line into the same one-line, another one-line, or into a spreadsheet. The one-line or spreadsheet does not have to be in the same project.

To copy and paste items:

  1. Tap to select the item or items on the one-line that you want to copy.
  2. Tap Copy.
  3. If you want to copy the items into another one-line or spreadsheet, open the one-line or spreadsheet.
  4. Without selecting any other equipment items, do one of the following:
    • Tap Paste. This places a copy of the items in the upper-left corner of the one-line.
    • Press, hold, and release on the area on the one-line where you want to paste the items. Select Paste Copied Items Here.
    • To copy to a spreadsheet, tap to select the row where you want to copy the items. See Copy and Paste (in Spreadsheets) for more information about the behavior of items copied into spreadsheets.
  5. OnSite creates new items on the one-line with new names and with the properties of the copied items. You can move the items or edit their item properties just as you would any other items on the one-line.

Copy and Paste Equipment Properties

You can copy and paste properties from one equipment item to other items of the same type.

Note: You can select to include or exclude equipment properties from automatically being included when copying equipment properties. See Property Settings for more information.

To copy and paste the equipment properties:

  1. Tap to select the item on the one-line from which you want to copy properties.
  2. Tap Copy.
  3. Tap to select the item to which you want to paste the copied properties.
  4. Tip: You can also select multiple items to which you can paste the properties. The items must all by of the same item type. For example, you cannot copy panel properties to an MCC, but you can copy them to other panels. See Selecting Multiple Items.

  5. Tap Paste. The properties are pasted to the selected items.

Note: You can also perform copy and paste between equipment on one-lines, spreadsheets, and in the Database Browser, as long as the equipment types match.

Copying Properties Across Projects

If you copy an item's properties from one project to another, and the item's properties do not exist in the second project, those properties are not copied.
